Recap 2008:
The first edition of sixteen: nine International Film Festival kicked off on 3 rd March '08. It was a promising beginning as over 200 entries were received overall with foreign contributions from the U.K, the U.S.A, Egypt , Canada , Sweden , Korea , etc. Critically acclaimed filmmakers like Mr. Sudhir Mishra, Mr. Chandrakant Kulkarni and Mr. Ketan Mehta were part of the elite panel of judges. One of Bollywood's most reputed superstar, actor and producer of Oscar-nominated film Lagaan Mr. Aamir Khan graced the occasion and spoke at the closing ceremony.

sixteen: nine International Film Festival ‘09 was a worthy follow-up act to the festival's first year. The 12 th and 13 th of January, 2009 were lined up with competitive events and saw an attendance of nearly 3000 students. The events were webcast live on our website. Several distinguished film personalities like Ms. Shabana Azmi , Mrs. Madhuri Dixit-Nene , and Mr. Sanjay Gupta were present at the award ceremony. Bollywood's current heartthrob, Mr. Imran Khan presented trophies to the winners. ‘On the Road to Tel Aviv' by Khen Salem from Israel won the Best Short Film (Fiction) while ‘The Baby in Me' by Christie Mendora of the U.S . A was the Best Short Film (Non-fiction).
